We have developed a SaaS solution that helps with smart e-mail delivery and marketing research. It is called Quanda and is the only such tool on the Czech market. It offers everything that marketers need in one place, and can send thousands of e-mails per minute.

Smart email marketing that moves forward companies as well as freelancers

In 2011, the marketing company Quanda addressed us with a desire to create customised software that would function as an e-mailing tool with online surveys in one.

Quanda had years of experience in the marketing environment. They were familiar with large tools like MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics or Salesforce from their practice, but these didn't suit them because they had to use several of them at one time. They lacked one tool,

  • which would cover all functions;
  • save them work and time; and
  • take advantage of this interconnection.

And that's why they approached us. They planned to use the tool themselves, but also wanted to offer it to other marketers, analysts and researchers as SaaS. We immediately saw Quanda's intention as a product with great potential on the Czech market.

Improve deliverability!

If you don't want most of your marketing emails to end up in the SPAM folder or in promotions/bulk mail, you need to increase the credibility of your emails. Setting SPF and DKIM in your sending domain is a must; this will increase the credibility of the e-mails you send. Other factors affecting delivery are, for example: the reputation of the sending domain, the sending server´s score of the IP address, and last but not least the quality of the content and links in the body of the e-mail itself.

Czech company Quanda focuses on marketing consultation and has been gathering experience since the 1990s. Its services include marketing analysis, but it also creates company magazines. It runs the Quanda SaaS application, which offers similar functions as the well-known services MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, etc. and unifies them into one tool for marketers.

Integrating functions into one tool will open up new possibilities for marketers

Quanda planned to be the first application on the Czech market that would integrate the most common functions of e-mail marketing.

The system should offer three main functions in one place:

  • e-mail campaigns (including e-mail series, logic campaigns and A/B testing options);
  • online surveys with analysis; and
  • web forms for smart contact import.

These basic features were later joined by others, such as improved contact and business database management and automated emails. In addition, before the GDPR came into force, Quanda was gradually expanded to include functions related to this legislation.

It was boring, constantly copying contacts from one application to another and updating them. That's why we started thinking about our own solution.

The analysis reveals important connections hidden at first sight

We agreed with the client on the goals: the tool must make life easier for people in the marketing department, be really easy to use and switch easily between multiple languages. At the same time, it would have a free trial and various tariff variants.

For the initial analysis, we conducted workshops with the client and conducted a search for solutions available on the market. We found an interesting thing: large marketing research tools have gaps in the result analyses, especially in answering interconnected questions.

We decided to build a modular integrated platform.

  • The heart of the system will be contact management: importing contacts (from applications such as Outlook, Gmail, Helios, Pohoda using CSV or XLSX files) and labelling.
  • from the contacts database, data for 3 basic pillars of the system will be drawn: newsletters, transaction e-mails and surveys.

Python, Django framework and other technologies

We reached out for proven technologies that power applications like YouTube or Seznam:

  • The tool is written in the Python programming language;
  • using the proven Django web framework;
  • we used PostgreSQL for databases;
  • the Celery tool was used for queue management; and
  • for easy integration via API.

What can a marketing tool do?

Quanda provides detailed information or analysis, making it an effective tool for marketers. They can learn about the success of individual email campaigns and see clear survey results. This makes it easier for them to plan further activities and optimise them.

Together with Quanda, we created a well-structured and fast-working tool that makes it easier for marketers to automate and integrate e-mail campaigns, online surveys, and web-based contact collection forms.

Quanda users are more than satisfied with:

  • imports with smart automation to complete missing data;,
  • automatically generated addresses by first name or surname;
  • easy integration with a CRM system such as RAYNET;

In 2010, I decided to start developing my own marketing application with a fellow programmer. At first, everything went well, but when I found out over time how big a project I was embarking on and what my friend's real capacities were, I quickly started looking for someone to help me with development.

At that time, someone recommended me COex. I immediately contacted them and after a few meetings we started working together. In less than a year after the first meeting, the project was born. It was functioning and ready for the first customers. During the preparation and during the development itself, I appreciated their professional approach, meeting of deadlines, consulting, their extensive experience as well as personable communication and fair approach. I felt that it was not just a supplier-customer relationship, but that I had found a partner who also cared about the outcome and was willing to look for ways to reach it as efficiently as possible.
